Adding my own pictures

Post by olehaakon »

Hi!

I am trying to add my own landscape picture (jpg). However, this does not work. The screen show parts of the (default) village picture....and other parts of the screen is simply black, large squares.
Any idea how to fix this? If you do - I'll gladly pay for the program.

Can you tell me what build of YoWindow you are using (eventually load and install the latest build. It's a release-candidate, but usually stable) and what steps you already have done to add a picture?

Additionally i am interested in a screenshot of YoWindow you are describing in your post. Please can you post one? Thank you!

I use several pictures of my own for some locations and it works without problems.

Hi use the lates build.
When I try to use my own picture, I choose "add" unders "landscape pictures" - and the choose my jpg picture. I have tryed to enclose a screenshot to show you how it looks, but neither doc or pdf is allowes. Can anyone explain to me how to make a screenshot that is allowed here? I have also tryed to paste it directy into this text...
The program also "freeses" when I add my own picture. I have to exit and restart - and the choose "default village" to make it function again :(

That's the usual way - you have done everything the right way.

You don't have to include your screenshot in a document. Save the screenshot (type jpg for example) directly anywhere on your pc and upload this picture-file.

If you understand that please skip the following explanations, otherwise:
  • make YoWindow the active window by clicking on the programs title-bar
  • press "Alt-Print" to make a screenshot from the currently active window
  • start a picture-program of your choice (paint.exe is included in windows and sufficient for this purpose)
  • paste the screenshot in the program by pressing Ctrl-V (or Strg-V)
  • save the picture anywhere on your PC
  • upload this picture here in the forum ("Upload attachment")

ah, yes, I'm listening :)
I've been busy last days with marketing and promotion of YoWindow, SEO, AdWords and some other stuff.

olehaakon, it seems YoWindow has problems either with your computer or with your image.
What's your operating system?
Please post here the background image you've been trying to add to YoWindow.

You should know that you won't see the sky, sun, clouds, moon when you are using a JPG picture, since YoWindow does not know where the sky is on the picture.

Yes, there is an error in YoWindow. When you are choosing the picture for too long (more than 1 minute I guess), YoWindow goes crazy. Sorry about that, I had to fix this but fogrot it.

The screenshot would be very helpful for me to find the source of the problem. Please give us the screenshot. Follow Reinhart tutorial.

Reinhart, thank you much for help with the questions in the forum.

Ole, my guess is that your image is too large, more than 2048 by horizonal.
YoWindow cannot display too big images because of Flash Player limitations.
Try to scale down the image with Photoshop or some other graphical editor.

Was this helpful?
