Read as instructed, your post on how to add a location. Followed your instructions and went to the GeoNames sites, but I don't see any codes.
I DID find my city Alger, MI 48610 (populated and not administrative), it is #36 on the list:
http://www.geonames.org/search.html?q=A ... country=US
But when I click on it, it takes me to this page:
http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_44.126_-84.121.html
Guess I am lost. Where do I find the location ID, etc, which you refer to in your instructions?
ID?/Alger, Michigan/United States
Oh, I found you via a friend who owns and runs our local cable tv/phone and internet company.

Find Alger in the list of locations below the map on the second web page in your post and click on it's icon. The information you need will popup on the map in a dialog balloon.

Re: Can't find ID for Alger Michigan
Excellent. That was quick. I posted that code within my widget code and uploaded to my site. GREAT!
I can also pull up ALGER at the yowindow site, but cannot pull it up within the desktop widget. Should I re-download and re-install the desktop widget to receive the latest cities.
Many, many thanks!
Marion

Marion,
Your picture is in black and white.
This means you weren't online when you took it.
Is your internet connection oke?
If so, your picture should be in color.
Do you get fresh information when you press F5? (Loading new actual weather and forecast)

I went back to the website and reinstalled the software, so it updated itself and now my options panel works just fine. Was also able to update locations, and now Alger comes up as a choice.

That only happens when I use my snipping tool. The snipping tool just so happens to gray out the widget when I snap an image. I have a constant online connection.FvE wrote:Marion,
