Clouds

Post by phantom »

Wish this program simulated different types of clouds.

High clouds: Cirrus, cirrocumulus,cirrostratus.cumulonimbus -
Middle: Altocumulus, Altostratus
Low: Cumulus, Cumukus, Stratus

Yes, this program will never be able to simulator. The real conditions outside my window. Just would like the program to simulator the different clouds . Which you would see during a fair day, mostly cloudy day, party cloudy, and what you would see if the conditions where right for development of storms. Even if a storm doesn't occur in your area. The clouds shouldn't always be moving so fast. I would like to see them closer to what I see in the real world.
By the way, what is offered in the YouWindow Ultimate program. I see it has a longer extended forecast, and no limit on locations. Wondering if there are any other features. Which are not mention, and when will next version be released.

Thank you for the suggestion and the clear cloud classification.
I have added your wish to our tasks list.

There are only 2 restrictions in the free edtion.
Everything else is free.

We realease a fresh features for YoWindow in every 1 - 2 weeks.

Why do you think the clouds are moving too fast?
The clouds are programmed to fly in sync with wind speed reported by a weather station or predicted in the forecast.

Do you think clouds motion is exagerated in YoWindow?

I am not a weather man, or work in this field. You might be right on this area. I don't pretend to be an expert. Yet when there is no wind outside. The clouds don't stop moving. This is why I made this statement. As we move up in our athosphere the wind speeds change. Some times they are faster than the ground winds, and sometimes they are slower. Don't know if a program can simulator this without the proper data. I think a super computer could only do this. I cannot expect any personal computer software to match the real world. Maybe,if we where using a super computer. Than I would say it should.
If you do work on clouds, please make your program. Allow clouds to form and disappear as conditions change from national weather service stations. It would be cool to see this happening. When clouds outside my home form. Some times I like to sit back, and watch clouds go by. It's cool to see them form, and disappear. As the weather conditions change.

Hi Pasha and Yuri,
perhaps it is helpfull for you to integrate this suggestion for the different clouds, it is necessary to know, we have 10 basic cloud groups, 26 kinds, 31 sub kinds and 32 special forms ..
So in summery 99 different clouds
This cloud groups are fixed in the World Meteorological Organization, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud
In addition we have very special kind of clouds: hurricans, typhoons and don't forget the different typs of smog!
So dear Yuri, I wish you a lot of fun to integrate this suggestion into the next release :P

Just a little comment to make our vision clear.

1. YoWindow is not a real-world simulator, YoWindow is a weather application for fun.
2. We are short on time :)

How about the rain drops?
There are small ones, bigger ones etc etc
:D

Seriously, the clouds' speed is almost perfectly syncronized with the wind speed, no problem there.

Me again! Instead of having cloud move from left to right. Maybe, they could move in the direction of the wind. Just a thought, and if this is what happen in the real world. Than MyWindow should do the same thing.
Now I know people want to see different things in this program. If you decide to use a radar, let the people have a choice to display it or not. This goes with the warning too. Than you can please everyone, and get a bigger group of people interested in buying this program, or using it. The more people using it. Will result in you having a better lifer style. Next time when we see your new YoWindow version. Your background picture will have you sitting on a beach with a bunch of beautiful women. Unless your married, than it better be your wife. Otherwise, expect a funeral. - :D Can't wait to see where you will be when you become a millionaire.
