Shift Sun and Moon depending on the view-angle

Post by par »

Meerkat recently has suggested to display the Sun in YoWindow according to the view-angle.
http://yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 1756#p6006
Now the Sun and Moon motion and display do not depend on view-angle.

Here's my answer.

The sky is mapped to 360 degrees in YoWindow in order to always be visible (because it is nice to see the sun :) )
In the North hemisphere the mapping is the following, from left of the screen to right
North, East, South (in the center), West, North again.

In the South hemisphere:
South, West, North (in the center), East, South again.

I can change the point where the sun is rising depending on the view-direction.
But in this case the sun will be seen on the border of the screen occasionally.

Guys, what do you think?
I'm not sure.
Is this a good solution?

Pasha,

At this moment I can make no imagination of what it would look like.
In general though I would vote for a natural 'look'.
So with the details you've given us I would say choosing between Northern and Southern hemisphere would be a good option.

Maybe a trial version would be an option?
Unless of course that would be to intensive to develop.

Just my thoughts....

Yeah, I agree, we need a test version.
Hopefully when I have more free time I will make one.
