LiveSky-Landscapes locally with/without crossdomain.xml?

Post by ikarus1969 »

Hi Pavel!

At the office i am using a local website with the YoWindow-Widget.
I did not need crossdomain.xml in the past because i can't have a PWS here.
But now there's the possibility of Landscapes / LiveSky and this feature is controlled with the ywl-xml-file.
So i would need the crossdomain.xml

But there's no chance that this file is placed at the root-directory by our administrators.

Is there a way that i can use LiveSky-landscapes anyway? Or, what do i do if i have a local website with the YoWindow-widget at home?
Is there a way flash can read an xml-file by any other means/settings than a crossdomain.xml in the root-directory on a webserver?

(i do not speak of a website located on the servers of an ISP).

Can this be resolved with my suggestion
see
http://yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 1082#p4068
Then you do not need a xml file.
(Wheather on an I(phone, pad, pod) or Android, YoWindow what else )

As soon as Pavel implement this suggestion i would have a solution.

But until then: anyone has an idea for current implementation of YoWindow?

You local ip subnet should be at home 10.10.0.0 or 192.168.0.0
In your isp router/modem can you routing this ip to the internet ip with port 80.
with this extern ip you can call the widget.
in the root of the website yoy can pace the crossdomain.xml

test : http://131.211.131.11/yowindow/nieuwegein2.ywl
the picture is at http://131.211.131.11/yowindow/img/nieuwegein2.png
This is a temporary website and should not be use permanently

Hey, Reinhart!
As a workaround you may upload your landscape image to some sever where you can control crossdomain.xml
Probably there are some free image hosting servers around (Flickr?) that provide crossdomain.xml that allows downloading from any server.
And you will be able to run the widget on your local network.

I don't know any other way to allow Flash player to load files from a server except crossdomain.xml
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Ok then. I will try to place my landscapes on the tiny webspace my ISP provides. It should be enough for some landscapes and the crossdomain.xml

Thanks to all!
