Setup bug

Post by kadi1591 »

After installing a new version, the option "Run YoWindow" appears. However, instead of running the actual program, it runs the setup file again.
This bug has been around for quite a while and has not been fixed yet.

I'm sorry I cannot repeat this bug.
Are you installing the latest 437 build?
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Thank you for your reply.
It's interesting that you don't have the same problem because I've been having it for a long time, with at least the last 6-7 versions (including build 437), on four different computers!

Have you tried a complete uninstall and re-install?
Just a thought.

This is what I get (sorry it's in Dutch, but I hope you'll understand):
Install1.jpg
Install1.jpg (28.72 KiB) Viewed 7048 times
Install2.jpg
Install2.jpg (80.26 KiB) Viewed 7048 times
After that the program starts normally.
I'm using it on Windows XP.

Do you have any other details that could help us help you?

Thanks,
Fred

Yes, I have tried performing a clean installation. Same thing... When I click "Finish" (Voltooien), it runs the setup file instead of the installed program.
I don't know what other details I can provide other than that I'm running it on 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

Oke,

At least we know now you already tried a clean installation.
You said you have the same problem on 4 different computers.

I take it you have tried the free version only?
Are they all Windows 7 machines?

Anyone else with Windows 7 recognize this?

Fred,

I just uninstalled and reinstalled on one of my Windows XP and on my Windows 7. Both PCs went thru the setup and then started running YoWindow desktop.

My Windows XPs are 32 bit and the Windows 7 is 64 bit.

Does anyone else with a Windows 7 32 bit have a problem with going from the setup to YoWindow desktop?

Fred,
No, I have a registered version. I don't think this has something to do with it,though; when performing a clean installation, it is the unregistered version that is installed (the serial number is entered after the program has been installed). And the same problem occurred both before and after entering the serial number.
Yes, I have had the same problem with four different computers (my old desktop and laptop and my new desktop and laptop), all running Windows 7. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who is using the program to ask if they have the same problem. From all the posts here, though, I am getting the impression that I am the only one with this problem, so I'm thinking maybe I am running something else on my computers that is conflicting with it.
Anyway, it's not a big problem, and I only reported it because I thought more people would be having the same problem. This little thing aside, I just love YoWindow. Great job guys!

Does this mean you can still run an older version?
If so, which version is that?

I'm sorry, I'm out of ideas for the moment.
