Please could you arrange for Truro, Cornwall, UK season map:
(2635412 - 02.15:naked/04.01:spring/06.01:summer/09.15:autumn/11.01:naked/12.15:winter)
to match Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK season map:
(2653941 - 01.01:winter/03.01:naked/03.20:spring/06.21:summer/09.23:autumn/11.15:naked)
I think it may be a better match.
I will 'keep you posted' as the year progresses!
^-^
P.S. - On the matter of sound effects, I am skeptical... I have screen savers with sound options and I always turn the sound off...

Re: UK season maps
Thank you so much!
On the 17th November, there is a real 'Leonid' metor shower...
It's fun that we can see shooting stars on YoWindow as well.

PS _ I love YoWindow! ^-^

Given the flexible nature of YW, could you tweak the season map so that winter starts from December 15?
If I'm understanding correctly, this means that YW would continue to show 'naked' winters, but if the temperature then dropped sufficiently, I'd see snow in time for Christmas next year, etc.
Let's see if that works...

Re: UK season maps
Dear Pamela, is it true that usually the ground in Cambrige is covered by snow since 15 of December in average?
Re: UK season maps
Dear Par,
I can't vouch for Cambridge precisely, it's been a long while since I lived there. I'm in Cornwall now; the 'south west'.
Generally however, we're supposed to be blustery, wet and just 'cold'.
I would like to think that winter-proper doesn't start in south England until January. But increasingly, the winters seem to alternate between so called 'mild' ones, and then next year snow! Sometimes as early as November; 2005, 2009, 2010. It's getting harder to know what to expect.
Hopefully November snows will be a rare event! But for 'just in case' (and for seasonal impact - I do like seeing the snowman), adjusting the season map to include December 15 is probably about right. YW simply won't show it if the temp fails to dip low enough...
As always, I'll keep you posted.
Hope this is OK

Re: UK season maps
Ironically enough we have received this email from Cambridge 3 days ago
I'm not sure it is a good idea to teak season-maps just to make Snowman visible.
----
...I love your weather station, but for the last week you have been showing snow and a lovely snowman in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. We have had no snow for a week now and what we had has all gone, I think this is the same for most of southern England.
Please change it before I go out and try to built a snowman with the fallen leaves!
With very best wishes for 2011.
Kind regards,
Shirley
