screensaver weather expired-update not possible?
Screensaver weather still not functioning. Get a 'weather expired' message, and it can't be manually updated, unfortunately. Are the developers looking into this problem?

What location are you using as your Home Location? I tried Rochester, New York and I am not having a problem.

Hey Marty,
I tried exactly the same, with the same result
So i tried to think of another option/failure, but didn't come up with one.
I therefore didn't reply yet.
Hopefully msirianno can come up with some more details.

Re: screensaver weather expired-update not possible?
I am using Rochester, NY. My screensaver issue seems to be an ongoing problem with YoWindow. When in screensaver mode, it just does not work and I get a 'weather expired' error. If you try to manually update, it doesn't. I believe the developers are working on this. Hopefully they will have a fix in place soon, I really like this as my screensaver.

Hi Mike,
I just tried Rochester, New York as my Home Location on both of my Windows XP. I let the Desktop time out to screen saver. I did not get a Weather Expired on either one of my XPs.
I am using the current Build 429. What Build are you using?

Re: screensaver weather expired-update not possible?
The weather expired message I get in screensaver mode happens when it tries to update the weather the very first time. It doesn't happen immediately when going into screensaver. I just tried it again to uodate by hitting the F5 key while in screensaver. It shows that it is trying to update, but does nothing. The time is correct, just no weather updates.

Hi Mike,
Did you (or could you) have a look at this: http://yowindow.com/help.html#q11

Re: screensaver weather expired-update not possible?
Hi Fred,
Thanks for your reply.
Here's where I am at with YoWindow. When I run it as a stand alone app on my desktop, it works perfectly. I also use it as my screensaver, however, once my screensave kicks in, YoWindow works fine until it tries to update. It is then that I receive the 'weather expired' error. At that point when I try to refresh by hitting F5, nothing happens. The error still remains.
Like I said, only when I am in screensaver mode do I have a problem.
Mike.

Re: screensaver weather expired-update not possible?
I see Mike,
I don't get it, that is: I can't reproduce your problem.
It all seems to work fine for me, sorry. (I tested it for Rochester of course).
The only thing I can think of for the moment is that something is going wrong with your internetconnection as soon as you are in screensaver mode.
I might be totally wrong, but simply cannot come up with something else.
I hope Pasha can help you with this.
Goodluck,
Fred
