computer's self-resets

Post by mark2010 »

Hello Pasha,
If you do not mind I again use an e-mail to contact you. Since one week ago I have a problem with my comp. Each time when I run YoWindow, after several minutes my comp resets itself. Either after that or without active YoWindow, comp functions properly. I claim this case due to the suitable experiments: Yesterday I carried out the test consisting in the "method of selection" Successively I did not run the particular softwares installed in my comp. This method emerged that comp resets when YoWindow is running, only. It clearly looks that a reason of my comp's resets is YoWindow. Please consider this case. I liked YoWindow so much that it would be difficult for me to give up it. :( Thank you in advance for your reply and help.
Operating system: Windows XP Home SP3 automatically updated
RAM size: 1024 MB
By the way, I again had to log to enter into the YoWindow forum.

Hello, Marek,
this is a rare case when I can hardly to help.

I agree, the problem with computer reboot maybe initiated by YoWindow.
But I think this is an indirect impact.
YoWindow consumes a lot of CPU power.
The processor is under high load when YoWindow is running.
And when the processor gets overheated the computer is usualy reboots itself.
I have experienced exactly the same problem 4 years ago with my PC.
Most likely this is the case.
Try to run some CPU consuming software to check my assumption, like an MP3 encoder.
Let me know the results.

Of course there is a chance that the problem is inside YoWindow code.
Unfortunately I have no idea where it may hide.
The only way to diagnose the problem is to have an access to your PC and spend 1 - 2 days catching the problem.
This is the time I don't have at hand now.

And after we have never received complaints about YoWindow causing computer reboot.
More than 100,000 people are opening YoWindow every day.
So, this is very unlikely.
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Hi Pasha,
I have carried out the following test:
Comp charged with Full HD video player, big desktop clock, Skype (video-conversation) and web sites of course.
After 1 hour CPU's average temperature was 50 deg, Core 0 = 54 deg and Core 1 = 46 deg there in.
Result successful, no reboot.
Please note that formerly described problem appeared about week ago. I have YoWindow about 3 months. Within this time my comp's service procedure did not changed.(YoWindow was running as a first device) ;)
All the best

Hello Pasha,
Something mysterious happened. something what I waited for and believed in, something what would fix the problem. And so happened. Since when I installed version 429 (Thursday) my comp runs properly (no self-reboots) at least to this moment i.e. Saturday evening. So on! :D I wish you many developments and wait for announced surprises. ;)

Hey, Marek!
I'm happy that YoWindow have resolved the problem itself :))
Thanks for the good news, this problem was rotating in my head for last days.

Actually I think there probably something is wrong with Internet Explorer or Flash Player on your computer.
YoWindow relies on both of them.

One thing I know for sure - there is no special command inside YoWindow to reboot the computer. :)
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.
