Hi Pasha,
May I suggest a new 'topic' called: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!
Or maybe: POSTINGS IN ENGLISH PLEASE!
Or something similar, in which you explain to our new users that they need to post in English.
I hope this would help our new users to post in English right away.
Thanks.
Fred

Re: New postings in English!
Hi Fred,
in principal I agree with you ... but our community is growing up more and more and a lot of people are not able to write her posts in English
And I'm shure that we have many people like to post in the forum but they have the barrier of the foreign language.
I think they have also the right to be a part of the community.
Of course they can use the Google translation (or another translator) or we have a special corner for non English languages, like our German corner.
So we can answer in their native language.
If it is an interesting post for all members, we can translate it and post it to the right place.
What do you think about this possibility?
Werner

Re: New postings in English!
good morning friends,
Fred, in general your are right, but I agree with Werner - we should be an open forum and if there is a significant number of user who are not able or who are afraid to use English they should do it in their mother tongue, as we have done it with German.
I am sure there will be some one who likes to translate from French to English.
I think this will not destroy our forum. And please don't forget it is one of the unique features of Yowindow that it is available in 30 plus languages right now. If we find a translator for a certain language they should have their corner on our forum.
Pasha, what is your opinion about that?
If you do agree, we should open a French corner and we ask our forum, who would like to make the translations?
I hope to get a lot of replies and comments.
kind regards
Uli

Re: New postings in English!
Hi Fred, Werner, and Uli,
I would like to completely agree with Fred as I enjoy reading the comments made on the Forum. When the comments are not in English, I am at a disadvantage.
My mother had one rule for my father to follow. If you are going to say words that the children should not know, say it in German. So the only German that I really know are the words that I should not know!
I took a German course in school, but it was a script and not a text book. So I still only know the words that I should not know!
Since I speak fluent English and do not understand another language, I am sure that the reverse is true for someone else. That is why I also have to agree with Werner and Uli.
Is there some way to translate the comments so that everyone can understand?
Marty

Re: New postings in English!
Very well Pasha,
Thanks for clearifying your point of view.
Hopefully we will find some helpfull translators.
At least I won't feel the need to ask the people to put there requests in English any longer
And I also won't feel limited when answering in another language then English.
Can't help but feeling that isn't in everyones interest though, I mean this will not be in benefit for all of us on occassion.

Re: New postings in English!
Sorry Guys,
Didn't mean to let your questions unanswered:
This will as far as I can see be no problem for you German speaking guys, since you are very good in English.
Now we've encountered a Belgian guy, who has, so far only been posting in French.
I don't know about you, but I for one won't be able to decide whether or not a French post (or a Chinese, or whatever other language) would be interesting for all members.................
It's just that we (or at least I) won't always be able to understand, let alone try to help someone.
Also we would have to depend on (just) 1 or more translators.
Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely for an open Forum.
I would love to see a Dutch section
Thanks for your understanding and sharing guys!
