After 150 landscapes I take a timeout

Besides the regular forum friends, there is little respons from others.
Much is downloaded, but no word of thanks or something. No word where it is used.

I think you're right Herman,

Allthough many downloads don't always mean many uses perhaps.
It might very well be that one just wants to have a (closer) look.

To be honest I'm very impressed about what you guys produce, but have up 'till now never used any of your landscapes.
Please dont get me wrong, I really think they are terrific and I know the effort that has to be put in to make it usuable for YoWindow.

It's just that I have but a few personal places in my YoWindow and I wanted to have landscapes that correspond with these places.
So in my personal view, no landscape is suitable for my personal needs and no-one can use mine.

I do hope that won't discourage you though

Anyway, thanks for everything and please keep up the good work :!:

Dear Herman,

I fully agree with you and you remember when I finished my first 150 landscapes here, I had the same feeling as you now and took also a timeout.
And when I read the suggestions of some people -doing nothing for this community- I get a thick throat (as we in German say)

But on the other hand, dear Herman, I agree with Fred and most of the people getting more and more passiv. To take, instead to give, will be more and more popular :(
It is better to had some good friends, than many acquaintance! And so in the meantime I'm satisfied to get a feedback from the handfull friends here in this forum :D
Also some of us getting closer on a private base outside this forum ... so we have to thank again Yowindow :D
I'm shure we have not to wait too long for your next landscapes or other activities ;)
Thanks for your great work :!:

dear Herman,

take your timeout but be back asap. :(

We love your landscapes from these secret places all over the world. ;)
I wish I could join you on these journeys.

As Werner told we have to thank Yowindow that each of us did find new friends here at the forum! :)
That makes me really happy and I like to share thoughts with brothers in mind! :D

So take some time for recreation and be back ......
I will miss you and your great work.

Herman, next time you are travelling in Germany make a stop in my area and let us have a cup of coffee or tea at my home.

Dear friend have a nice day

I guess the whole YoWindow-team is very happy about people like Herman and Werner who contributed so many landscapes.
For a potential user the chance to buy the program is higher if there's already a landscape for the area he/she is living in.

But not only the YoWindow-team is happy; i'm sure there are many users out there who are happy about the one or the opther landscape in the collection.

I agree that if they use a landscape at least a "thank you" is definitely recommended!
Maybe they aren't aware that creating a landscape can be hard work although it has become much easier with the improvements Pavel and his team has made on this part of YoWindow.

So girls & guys: if you use a landscape why not writing a short reply to the landscape-post so the author knows that his work is not for nothing?
Little effort, i promise!

That's the one side of the medal.

The other side:

1.) landscape posters (including me of course): do you like "negative" comments as well? To make a beginning: for me the resolution of most of the landscapes is too low. So either i don't download it, or, if there's a link to the origin of the landscape, i download a higher-resolution-version and make a landscape by myself. Do you expect me to reply something like "good idea, picture ok, but the resolution is too low for me"?
Or if i don't like the picture for any reason, should i post that?
I'm asking because on another forum that would result in answers like "Then don't download it!".

2.) It was said that people are posting suggestions without contributing something. Don't forget it's a commercial product so everyone can make suggestions.
At least the users who bought the program. They don't have to contribute anything. They have paid for it. But that's not the point. As long as they are not rude and remain friendly in making suggestions (not requests!) it's everyones right to do so.
I think everyone can suggest anything - it's up to Pavel and his team to pick the ones they like and then decide which ones to implement next.

Regardin landcapes i personally has 15 landscapes added to YoWindow but use only 3 of them regularly:

Hi Herman

The huge amount of beautiful landscapes that you sent so far, I think you invented a program that does it all ... :D
It's amazing how many places you have been!
I remind you that in the month of November Pavel wants to receive so many landscapes with the sea.
I'm sure after a short rest will return to send more work, even if the comments to our work are scarce. Patience.
Lately I've been a little bit away from the forum for business (but also because of the weather station have been built by a stone ... )
Sincerely.

Franco :)

Hi friends ;)

Thanks for the comments. Your response is good.
I would not be negative, but found it necessary to say once.
I miss already making landscape. :D
No, I will first update my website, making a new website for my son.
Of course i come back.

Herman, you have made a fantastic job for the project.

I wish our visitors to be more open and to comment more on our authors work.
Friends, when you have downloaded a landscape, just say "thank you".
It takes 10 seconds.
But it means a lot for the author.

Guys and girls?
Please say THANK YOU to Herman!!!!!
Right in this post!!!!!!
