really the decorations were to be turned on by eight December to 6 January, so it is more correct

The 12 Days of Christmas are December 25th thru January 6th.
For Russian or Greek Orthodox, they are January 7th thru January 18th.

The author of YoWindow has chosen the week before December 25th for the beginning of the Holiday Lights.
He has chosen to celebrate his mother's birthday which is January 10th.

So December 18th thru January 10th is more correct.
