Where are my settings?

Post by spectrum »

This is the 2nd time in the last week that I've turned my computer on and Yowindow has started up but not with my settings. It starts in Australia but that's as near as it gets. All my locations are gone along with any other settings I had. Has this happened to anyone else? First time I've had any sort of problem with YoWindow.

This is on my desktop using WinXP.

The first time it happened it wouldn't let me re-set my options and I had to re-install and start from scratch.
This time I've re-set the options but the weather is not updating. Looks like I'll have to re-install again. :(

Hi Louise,

Can you please tell us what YoWindow version you are using?
Please mention the first two line under Help/About (Example: YoWindow 3S, build 145)

Thanks in advance.

That's it, 3S 145

I've just looked again this morning, as I've just turned my computer on, and it's happened yet again. The options and locations I set yesterday are gone. :(

Hi Louise,

Thanks for your info.
I can't think of anything that could cause this at the moment.

Could you please send your options.xml to support@repkasoft.com, explaining what is going wrong in that mail?

You can find options.xml under:
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\YoWindow

Replace [your user name] with your Windows login (user) name

Goodluck,
Fred

The same happens to me for some months. All began after an update, and now,
after having installed last version, it's has become the default.
Everytime I restart PC, I see NY and my settings are gone.
All this even if i uninstall and reinstall it.
Now I have uninstalled it and I am searching another product.
I too use XP SP3.

If you still wish to install YoWindow, please help us to locate the problem spot.
YoWindow is running without errors on most computers, but under some circumstances it looses options.
I need to find out why.
Please send us options.xml file to support@repkasoft.com

You can find options.xml under:
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\YoWindow
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

After driving me nuts :x , it hasn't happened again since 18th March.

Fingers crossed it stays that way.

If the problem comes back I'll let you know :)
