error-"update error"

After initially installing, when I get to the screen to set up my location, I receive an error which simply states "update error". I have no idea what this means, or how to rectify it. If I go to he "add new location" page, it doesn't allow me to. I am in the US. This seems to be a completely unusable program so far...please help! Thanks!

YoWindow is not able to connect to the internet.
Probably because your firewall is blocking either YoWindow or Internet Explorer.

I have no firewall set up. Why would your program need IE to run, anyway? That doesn't make any sense to me. Does Bill know about this? I kinda doubt it... Any other solutions?

I wish YoWindow did not have this requirement.
But, unfortunately it was impossible for us to solve this problem technically.
