Weather keeps disappearing

With the newer versions of YoWindow I have been having a repeated problem of the weather info disappearing. I get a screen with the landscape picture and no weather info. Then I uninstall YoWindow and re-install it and my weather info is there again--for about a week, maybe a little longer. Then one day the landscape picture will have no weather info again and I need to uninstall and re-install the program again. This is a recent problem that began with the release of the sound versions of the program, but it's possible it's just a coincidence that it started then and there's something else going on. But I never had this problem once before the new sound version of YoWindows was released. This is getting pretty annoying. Any suggestions?

Hi Joe,

I just looked at Chicago, Illinois on my Desktop.
Everything is displaying as it should.

I know you have Windows 7 and you are using b145.
I have Windows 7 and Windows XP.
I am also using b145.
I am not having a problem.

Please supply more information about your system.
What other programs do you have running?
What options do you have check marked in YoWindow?
And anything else that you can think of.

I have Malewarebytes Anti-Malware; Win Patrol; Google Chrome; VuMinder Lite amd Microsoft Security Essentials running. Sometimes Bit Torrent or Spotify is running as well. In options on Yo Window Notify Me When A New Version is Available is checked. Sound is disabled. Location is set to Chicago. Landscape is currently village but it happens regardless of the landscape chosen; forcast panel shows number of days to display as 3 (this normally disappears a few days before the temp does); wind is not checked; under inspector Display? is checked; Under contents Location, weather, temperature, feels like, temperature range, sky image, description, wind, pressure, humidity, precipitation chance and observed are all checked; under screensaver temperature and time are checked with Chicago as home; under advanced highlight weather station parameters and I want to have fun are checked; under weather NWS forecasts for the USA is checked; Under system tray both color and background show default.

Hi Joe,

Excuse me for interferring.
Probably a silly thought, but I simply can't imagine what is going wrong here.
It couldn't be that you (accidentally) press the Tab-key every now and then, could it?
For that toggles the option to clear all panes (and get them back again when re-pressed).

From what you wrote I got the impression that you miss the info from the panes, but I might have misunderstood this.

Hi Joe,

Fred has brought up a very good point.

Are you doing anything with the Tab Key or the 1, 2, and 3 above Q, W, and E?
The 3 will toggle the Forecast off and on.
The 2 will toggle the Current Weather off and on.
The 1 will toggle the Time Line (LIVE) off and on.
The Tab Key will toggle all 3 off and on.

You have posted that the Forecast is lost first and then the Weather.
Are you pressing a 3 followed by a 2 for any reason?

I sometimes use the number and tab keys when I'm typing, using Excel, etc. My behavior using the keyboard hasn't changed since the problems started happening but the next time the weather info disappears I will press Tab and see if it comes back. I never had this problem before the recent versions of YoWindow with sound. If this has something to do with the keyboard it seems like this should have happened with the earlier versions of the program as well.

I forgot to mention that the system tray icon keeps disappearing as well. There is a blank space where the icon is supposed to be and if I place the mouse cursor over that space the weather info will pop up (even if the weather info is not displaying on the landscape screen). Currently the system tray icon has disappeared again. Is there a keyboard shortcut to make that reappear?
