this problem persists for more than a month already. every location i choose the program says "no weather". tried downloading the newest july 4th version, with no change. i tried both selecting "jerusalem" form "israel" and "ramallah" from "palesinian authority" (which is 10 miles from jerusalem) but both didn't work. BTW, the web version does show weather for jerusalem: http://yowindow.com/online.html?locatio ... &us=metric)
when trying now to select a new location (say, in a European country) i can't choose a city and i get "no locations in scope". (i don't remember having this problem in the previous version). tried to disable the firewall, but it didn't help.
any suggestions?

Re: "no weather" in jerusalem
I don't know
It looks like a firewall issue, but you have already turned of the firewall, so must be something else.
Check if Internet Explorer can display the weather for Jerusalim in online edition.
YoWindow displays the weather through Flash ActiveX component of Internet Explorer.
As a last resort uninstall YoWindow completely and then install it back.
Let me know if it helps.

Re: "no weather" in jerusalem
maybe it has to do with my ISP, which filters many website suspicious for non-appropriate content. it has some false positives from time to time. if you write me your update server URL, i can try and work it out with them.
and to your question - yes, jerusalem shows great on IE: http://yowindow.com/online.html?locatio ... &us=metric. now i can even show location in Israel (but not in other countries) but when i choose the location, it's stuck on "updating location info"

Re: "no weather" in jerusalem
thanks. my guess was right: my ISP was blocking this server because it enables external proxy servers. i had to explain them it's only for weather, and they unblocked it, and now i can enjoy again your program! thanks for your help.

David, I'm happy the source of the problem is found
Can you explain why your ISP has blocked yowindow.com?
Is it because of the way yowindow.com works - delivering the data from another server?
Do you know if I can do anything to prevent this problem in future for other YoWin users?

Re: "no weather" in jerusalem
i'm not very familiar with the technical details. it's a special ISP which enforces a very strict content-filtering policy. it also automatically prevents surfing via proxies or creating anonymous IPs - so you won't be able to bypass their content filtering system.
but once they solved the problem for me - it's solved for all their clients. and they're probably the only ISP in the world which chooses to do content filtering on server level (as opposed to client level, via some filtering program)
