Screen Goes Into "Zoom" Mode

Post by enterline3000 »

This has happened 2 times in the last 2 - 3 days. When YoWindow is brought up, the screen apears to be in a "zoom" mode, all I see is clouds going by as though the screen is on about a 500% zoom. Is there an adjustment somewhere to get it back to 100%. I've been able to get it back by uninstalling and then re-installing YoWindow. Something is wrong somewhere.

Hi Timothy,

Welcome to YoWindow.

Can you give us more information? What release of YoWindow are you using? What landscape or landscapes are you having a problem with? What is the city location you are having a problem with? What Flash Player are you using? What is your computer operating system? What is your browser?

Supply us with the above along with anything else you can think of so that we can try and recreate your situation on our computers. Once we can recreate your situation, we can help you fix the problem you are having with YoWindow.

Thank you in advance.

error in landscape

Post by A-L-E-X »

Hi, I've only had the program a couple of days and I am getting a weird error in the landscape. My location (KJFK) shows a zoomed in view of the landscape (I only see part of the sky and the tree tops swaying) while all other airports nearby have the normal landscape. Why is this? And whenever I switch to a different landscape, I have the same zoomed in thing whenever KJFK is selected but other locations are normal. This is my home location so I need it to be normal. Thanks!

Hello, I have the exact same problem. My station is JFK and I am using the latest version, I've only had the program 2 days. Here is the weird thing..... when I load other airports (KLGA, KFRG, KNYC) which are nearby, there is no zooming issue, it only happens with my home location. It's very annoying! It only happens with the current conditions and maybe plus or minus 3 hours, go any further back or forth and it no longer happens and the landscape looks normal. I am trying to load PWS from wunderground but this does not seem to be available in Yowindow yet. I have a weather station, but it's not connected to the internet, is there any way I can use the data from someone else's personal weather station on wunderground? I have other programs that display this data (Weather1 and WxExchange), so I assume Yowindow should be able to add this ability. I still have that zooming issue with current conditions at KJFK however, I tried all different landscapes and all I see are the clouds and the tree tops. I have windows xp.

HI Alex,

Please supply us with the information that I asked Timothy for.

What is your home location? We need the town name (not the ICAO code).
Flash Player? Version of YoWindow? Anything else you can think of.
Without this information, it is difficult for us to recreate your problem.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks Marty! Home location is Woodmere, NY. I have the latest flash player version whatever that is, I know this because it seems to update on my computer on a weekly basis :-P I have windows xp.

The issue resolved when I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but I am very cautious when I use it now. I have not changed any of the default conditions (besides saving more locations) and I dont move it forward and backward in time. I have a feeling the reason it only messed up with my home location was because I was scrolling back and forth in time a lot to see all the pretty changes, either that or testing out different landscapes. Now I will not do any of those things, and just leave the program as is, and ever since I have done so the problem has not recurred after reinstallation.
