Do you uninstall Old version before Installing New One?

I noticed there was a new version on your site today. I wasn't sure if you can install over the old version or do you have to uninstall the old version first then install the new one. If you do have to uninstall the old one first, is there anyway to save your settings so you don't have to go through the setup again.

Even though this part is not in the suggestion area, can you build into the program, in the Help area menu, a way to check for a program update. It would make it easier to know if there is an update.


Lastly, the new download says release April 7, 2010 and is version 278. When I download it, it is version 276. Just thought you might want to know.

You don't have to uninstall a previous version first. Just download and install a new version; all settings are kept.

since a few versions automatic notification for a new release is built into yowindow. You can choose if you want to be notified when a new version is released in the Options (Extended)

Build 278 is the current release-candidate (it's marked as unstable although it's very stable in my opinion).

Important to emphasize is that YoWindow will not notify you of new release candidates, only new stable releases (if you have that ticked in the options). New release candidates happen nearly daily and the stable releases much less often. You can't go wrong though to check this forum occasionally to get the most recent release candidate because each one is always an improvement.

Might I add, that the release candidates hardly ever are unstable, allthough mentioned to be so!

So I would (also) suggest to regularly check for an (rc) update.
