Wrong Location

Post by Injeun »

I'm in Clermont Florida, USA. But when I restart my computer, YoWindow location keeps defaulting back to Newton Kansas. The landscape setting reverts to default setting as well. Anybody know how to fix this? :Search:

Hi Jeff,

What location do you have set up as your YoWindow home location? When you restart, YoWindow will always restart with the location that you have set up as home.

While you are viewing Clermont, Florida go up to the Menu Bar.
Click on Locations. Click on Organize Locations.
You will now be at page where you can select a landscape and also set a Home Location.
What you want to do is highlight Clermont with your cursor and click on it. Click on Set as Home. Click on Apply. Click OK.

Now try to close and restart YoWindow. You should have Clermont as a Home Location.

I hope all is well with YoWindow now.

Thanks Marty. I should have been more clear. I did those things such as choose my city/state and make it my home location. I also deleted the Newton Kansas location from the list, so that Clermont was the only city in my list and marked as Home. Still no go. It reverted back to Newton Kansas when I restarted Windows. BTW, I've never heard of Newton Kansas, and have no idea why it was in my locations. Anyway, I'm in the process of uninstalling, cleaning up the registry, and re-installing YoWindow. Will post back with the results.

Hi Jeff,

Has your problem with Clermont, Florida and Newton, Kansas been resolved? If it has not been resolved, I would like you to do the following.

Something may have gone wrong during the download of your current YoWindow Setup file. So here is what I want you to do.

1. Remove that old setup file.
2. Completely Uninstall YoWindow.
3. Completely clear your cache.
4. Download a fresh RC setup file from the top of the forum. See attached.
5. Install YoWindow with that new setup file.

Let us know how this works.

Thanks again Marty. I uninstalled it, ran a mild registry cleaner, and re-installed YoWindow. All seems to be working fine now. I am happy once again. It's very nice to see the current Temp. and weather outlook on my desktop. Take care.
