During the first night it seems to be a very good idea. Most of time the sky in yowindow looks like the original sky. The timing is not as exact as with the radiation sensor at daytime but very much better than the stupid "dark" with a fully covered sky.

The last night was stormy and really dark, so there was no great difference to the radiation sensor. But the upcoming night will be less cloudy and I will have some more looks, but I think, it is a good compromise.
