I'm sorry, this is the way YoWindow designed.
We cannot make it less CPU hungry because YoWindow designed on top of Flash tecnology which requires a lot of CPU power to run.

Did you already played around with the following options? Like in some 3D-games you can control the quality of the display:

I just want to comment that in the upcoming YoWindow 3 we are going to abandon these options.
We have already delayed YoWindow 3 significantly.
I don't want to spend valuable time for them, at least now.
Anyway YoWindow 3 is going to be faster than 2.0.

You can wait for YoWindow 3 where snow will be faster.
But you still be having more 50% CPU load.
Sorry, but this is the way YoWindow works.
