Location Artern/Germany

Post by Mallorca »

Hi Pasha,
please add this location for a member asking me with private mail.

2955394; Artern/Germany

Thank you.

Another point: in your "read first" for add a new location is the link to http://www.yr.no/
but there is no longer the geoname ID :(
So it would be much easier for our members to change this link direct to http://www.geonames.org/

The geonames-ID is still there - just a little bit hidden, but nonetheless just a click away.
On the bottom there's a little plus-sign with "Show more" on the right side of it - click on the plus-sign and you get:

Hey, friends!
Werner, I agree, now it is much complicated to find a geonames id on yr.no website.
I have updated the instruction.

And the location is already there, by the way :)

Maybe, it depends on the user.
And i don't know for sure if all the locations on geonames.org are available on yr.no - which would be necessary (for the forecast).

Yes, if location is not available on yr.no, YoWindow will not be able to fetch the weather forecast from yr.no.
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

So the user looks on geonames.org for the ID, then he has to check yr.no to see if a forecast will be available?
Is it easier to check 2 sites (for the not so experienced user)?

I fully agree with Reinhart,

The unexperienced user has proven not to be able to read and/or follow the instructions in the first place.
Maybe you could put the subject in red Pasha?
We certainly shouldn't ask them to check the geo-names ID on two seperate sites.
I think yr.no is the best option sofar, even with the disadvantage of an extra click.

Thanks.

Hi Pasha,

I completely agree with Reinhart. I prefer using yr.no and having to do an extra click at Show More than to use 2 different websites.

Would it be possible to include Reinhart's jpg of Show More in your instructions? As Fred has posted, that will only work if people read the instructions!
