I just wanted to supply some information about the Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island, Michigan, USA.
Mackinac Island is pronounced Mackinaw Island. When the automobile started to replace the horse and buggy, the residents of Mackinac Island thought the automobile was noisy and that it smelled. So they banned the use of it on their island. To this day, hiking, bike riding, and horse and buggy are the only modes of transportation.
Christopher Reeve (Superman) was in a movie - Somewhere In Time. He was a play wright who wanted to travel back in time. The movie was filmed at the Grand Hotel.
