Does anyone use the iGoogle-version of YoWindow?

Somehow i'm not able to make it work. I set the geonames-id correctly, set the units to degrees-celsius and the time-format to 24h.
After saving these settings nothing happens, i only get a white background.

I tried some other geonames-ids but none of them worked.

Do i have to do something else? Does anyone have a hint for me?

Thanks for reporting this error.
There are 145 daily users of iGoogle widget now.

I just have added Vienna/Austria with this code 2761369 without any problems.
It works on iGoogle page and it works for embedded iGoogle gadget.

I wonder why it does not work for you.

If you still having problems tell me how do you install YoWindow gadget step-by-step.
Maybe this way we can find the problem.

Don't you try to install YoWindow as a google Desktop gadget?

I don't know what this was/is. The error with iGoogle was at the office where i get a completely white background with the YoWindow-Gadget.

Now, at home, it works really fine (see attached hardcopy). As soon as i arrive at the office i will give iGoogle with YoWindow a second try.

I'm at the office now.

I tried to remove YoWindow-gadget/widget and re-adding it but the effect is the same: white background, no data.
First i signed on to iGoogle, then, on a different tab, i opended the YoWindow site and clicked on the iGoogle-button. On the following site there's a small screenshot of YoWindow and on the right a button labeled with the german text "Zu iGoogle hinzufügen" (Add to iGoogle) which i clicked.
Back on the iGoogle-tab i refreshed the site and YoWindow was added to my iGoogle-page. I selected the right geonames-id for Vienna, degrees celsius as the unit and 24h as the time-format. After "Ok" there's the white background with no data.

All this happens with Internet-Explorer V8 - i have Flash-Player version 10,0,32,18 installed.

First i thought it is a generally problem with flash on IE8 but i can use other flash sites without any problems.
"Flashgames.de " for example displays its flash-content with no problems:

But: at home i use Firefox with the flash-block add-on:

After releasing the flash, YoWindow is loading all the data and displays the well-known landscape:

But Pavel, please don't waste too much time on this - i don't use iGoogle very often; i only wanted to try your widget in the iGoogle-environment.
So if there's no relatively simple explanation - don't think too long about it.
As you said, it works for many users without any problems. And for me, i know that it works well in Firefox!

Thank you for the thourough investigation of the problem, you've helped me a lot.

I have found out that the Flash is not displayed on iGoogle under Internet Explorer 8 (and maybe less versions also have this problem)

However the regular Flash works ok under ie8 of course.

For example this popular application is not visible - http://www.google.com/ig/directory?type ... amster.xml

Let's wait for iGoogle team to make it work

I think iGoogle is a very valuable channel for YoWindow distribution, so I pay a lot attention to it.

Hi pavel,

on iGoogle i tried the "GadgetChecker", which told me 2 errors and some warnings (see screenshot-attachment).
(default values for temperature-unit and time-format; currently they are empty strings)

Maybe this is the reason why the YoWindow-gadget doesn't run in IE8 :?:

I don't know, but if you want you can give it a try.

Yes, I have already run this test.
The errors and warnings are known to me.
All of them are minor.
Especially the warning about localiztion.
However there is a little chance that they may impact the gadget appearance in ie8.
Remember, the Hamster gadget (the most popular Flash gadget) does not work in ie8 anyway.
I will check this later.

Whatever the reason was - it works now with IE8!
(and the Hamster gadget too )

Hello,

First of all, thanks to the developers for this weather monitor which I find really nice. I was trying to find new gadgets to add to my igoogle page when I discovered this one. I really like it.

I would like to now if it would be possible to add on the igoogle gadget the info relative to the pressure, wind direction, humidity, felt temperature and so on, that can be found when expanding the display to full screen ??
