It seems like a registry key is lost or corrupt...

Here's my advice...

Before proceeding make a restore point in windows 7...

1. Uninstall YoWindow completely using the uninstall.exe...
(You might wanna back up your settings and landscapes before doing this...They are located in System Drive\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\YoWindow)
(make sure that 'show hidden files and folders' is checked in your folder options)


2. Remove any left over data by manually searching for yowindow entries... (make sure not to delete the back-up you just made)
3. Open the registry editor (Type regedit in the searchbox that appears when you click on the start button in the left bottom corner and hit enter)...

4. Make sure 'Computer' is highlighted...

5.Click on 'edit' and choose search...Type in yowindow (make sure keys...values and data is checked) and hit enter...

This triggers a search for all the entries related to yowindow in your registry...

6.The ones you need to delete are the 'yowindow' folders that show up on the left side of your screen...Hitting F3 will continue the search until the whole registry is done...
(You might wanna export the folders before deleting...rightclick the folder and choose 'export'...This opens explorer and you can specify a folder and name for that key or registry-folder to be exported...It will autosave with the .reg extension... That way you can always re-add them to your registry if need be...just double click the .reg file and click on yes when prompted...Use the right-click to delete the folder or hit the delete key on your kb...)
7. Now reinstall the latest YoWindow...without entering your reg key...

8. Reboot...

9. Enter your reg key in Yowindow...

10. Reboot...and hopefully your problem is fixed...

Hello,
your idea didn't help as the other ones. I've already done it earlier, but to make sure I tried it once again, exactly the way you had written, and it seems that's not the way to fix it. But thanks for suggestion.

Dear Ola, please send me your options.xml to support@repkasoft.com, I will try to figure out how to solve this problem.

options.xml is located in...

-Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\YoWindow
-XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\YoWindow

Replace [your user name] with your Windows login (user) name

Hey Ola, I have not found anything suspicious in options.xml.
I'm sorry, I have no idea why registration is not saved in the new builds on your PC.

But please answer the following questions.
They may help me to find the solution.

1. Are you running YoWindow as an Adminitstrator in Windows?
2. How many user accounts are on the computer?
3. Are you installing and running YoWindow under different user accounts?

4. Try the following.
-Start YoWindow.
-Enter the license key
-Make sure YoWindow entered Unlimited mode.
-Exit YoWindow with main-menu/Program/Exit (this way only!)
-Start YoWindow again.
Is it Free or Unlimited at this point?

Hello, here are my answers:
1. It depends. Normally program is run while running a whole system, so I don't know if it is run as an administrator or not. But when I do it as an administrator, nothing changes.
2. There is only one account on my computer.
3. No (as above).
4. Didn't help.

You've written that the key might not be saved on the computer, but I think different. It looks like the key IS saved, but cannot be read in the new versions while launching. Example: when I type in the key in the latest versions it isn't remembered after running the program again, but when I install version 2.441 (without uninstalling the previous version) it suddenly comes up and everything is ok. So, since 441 version is able to read it (even after typing it in later versions), it is clear that there's no problem with saving the key, but exactly with reading it.

Hope this will make clear anything, :unknown:

One more try.

Try to go to Options/Advanced and then click "Abandon Unlimited Lincense" while being in Unlimited mode.
Then restart YoWindow and try to register again.
Will it help?

Hello!

Unfortunately, it didn't help as well. I've started wondering if it is really a bug of YoWindow or rather something's wrong with the configuration of my PC. But what doesn't let me sleep at night is that by 2.441 version everything was ok :unknown:

I have the same Problem with the Version 3. I had installed the version Yowindows 2 on my Computer and all worked correct.
Now i had restored to a older Image with no Yowindow on my computer.
I downloaded Version 3 und register it. All was ok. Afer closing Yowindow and start the Yowindow again i had no Unlimited Version.
I register again and and it will unlimited until the next close of the Programm.
Now i downloaded Version 2 from your Hompage and version 2 works correct.
Is it still possible to use version 3?
I have Windows XP-Pro SP3 and only 1 acount as Administrator.
