Hi

Is it possible to turn off the smoke from chimney in warmer conditions?

Why do you want to take away the smoke?
The people may cook food inside the house and that would produce the smoke.

At what temperature do you think the smoke should disappear?

Pasha, we are continually 'bombarded' by advertisements promoting 'GREEN' and the density (thickness) of the smoke in the chimney is certainly not promoting the use of an efficient stove...

How about an option (in the setup) to control (the time of day and/or the months and/or the seasons) when smoke should be displayed...

I don't want to turn of completely but the temp here is 21c and we don't have fires going until May, maybe an option to have smoke on at 15c and off above that.

i agree with that.
Maybe an additional option to allow smoke between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for cooking even when temperature is above 15 degrees?

We will talk over this option with Yura.
Most likely the smoke will be rarely (for cooking) displayed when it's hot outside.

I definetly want to avoid adding any options to control the smoke.
The less options we have - the easier the product - the better product we have.
I don't like options

The smoke/oven could be needed by the people living there. Think of that the people in this countryside-landscape use the heat produced with the oven to operate some machines (i think of the old steam-driven stirling-machine) - i can't see any cables leading to the house (although they could be within the ground) or a windmill to use electricity .

Some might think: The more options we have - the more flexible the product - the better product we have.

But: be prepared that options are asked for controlling all the things flying around in the sky, for animals that will live in YoWindow in the future, for ... whatever a user can pepper you and Yura with to implement it

They must be there.
But having too many options is a trap.

It's very small and has lots of wise thoughts for programmers.
I have learnt a lot from it.
It's available online for free.
Several first pages explain why is it bad to have too many options and too many features in a product.
