I do not know if this happened with 3.0.79 or earlier. Whenever my computer is rebooted it looses all references to my PWS. The PWS data and PWS yowindow.xml file has to be entererd again. It is if it has never existed. Any suggestions?

Hey, Geoff!
Try to uninstall/install YoWindow and let us know if it helps.

Seerms to help. But still looses any reference to the PWS details. Other details are retained. May be related to utility software such as registry and disk cleaners ? Will keep you informed.

Thanks

Geoff

The problem may arise in a case if you login into Windows under different user accounts.
Is this the case?

Make sure to put your yowindow.xml in a very simple directory.
Like C:\yowindow\yowindow.xml

Avoid national characters and spaces in the directory name.
Do NOT put yowindow.xml down C:\Program Files path.

I am reading yowindow.xml directly from the web eg. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~geoff.ha ... window.xml.

Also the file options.xml in c:\users\geoff\App data\roamomg\yowindow\options.xml contains the following when it looses its reference to the PWS:

</landscapes>
<weatherStations/>
</wimo>

When it is working well the contents of options.xml is as follows:

</landscapes>
<weatherStations>
<station id="s1" name="S P PWS" currentWeatherUrl="http://members.ozemail.com.au/~geoff.ha ... window.xml" autoUpdateIntervalSec="300"/>
</weatherStations>
</wimo>
The weatherstations data is missing? Everything else looks OK

Other refrences in the file look OK, such as

</location>
<location name="Sandy Point" icao="YMAV" weatherStationId="s1" landscape="sandy Point Transparent_135D6A302FE">
<server id="gn:2150253" name="Sandy Point" path="2077456/2145234/2150253" latitude="-38.82" longitude="146.1" e_time_zone="10:00" season_map="03.01:autumn/06.01:naked/09.01:spring/12.01:summer" icao_id="YMAV" e_digest="35f2a320b4aa1635c3a1f9dba4dc427b_10:00"/>
</location>

Thanks

Thanks for the detailed report, I wish our users would describe the problem like you.
Now I know more about the problem nature.

Try this experiment.
1. Run YoWindow
2. Setup PWS path in Location Properties
3. Click OK to confirm changes.
4. Exit YoWindow with main-menu/Program/Exit (this way only)
5. Start YoWindow

Will YoWindow lose the path to PWS or not?

If I exit through program,exit PWS link is sometimes lost. Not consistently.

If I exit through the x, window top right hand corner, link does not seem to be lost.

When exiting through Program exit and the PWS link is lost, options.xml is as follows:

</landscapes>
<weatherStations/>
</wimo>

When exiting through Program exit and the PWS link is retained, options.xml is as follows:

</landscapes>
<weatherStations>
<station id="s1" name="S P PWS" currentWeatherUrl="D:\Geoff\Harvey\Documents\yowindow.xml" autoUpdateIntervalSec="300"/>
</weatherStations>
</wimo>

I have put yowindow.xml in a plain directory for testing and am downloading yowindow.xml into that directory from the web with a file download manager
