Proposal: New location requests management approach

Re: Proposal: New location requests management approach
Regarding point 2 I would suggest that we correct it, thus saving us a lot of correspondence.Mallorca wrote:Hi friends,
1. I agree with the "mix" from Marty and Fred.
2. What shall we do with requests having a wrong ID? Check all requests before moving in the pending area?

The only exception I can think of (and that only happened once or twice) is when there are a lot of locations under the same name.
Like I had the other day with Ajos Nikolaos, Greece. Then we need the help from the user.

Marty and Reinhart,
I like the way you've responded the requests.
I'll confirm to that.
Thanks.

I had a look at the location requests.
The oldest unanswered dates from december 30th.
Do you want me to copy all of these to your new request post?
I will gladly do so, if it helps you, but I'm also trying to prevent double actions.
Thanks,
Fred
I've also responded to each and everyone.
So no more 0 responds in the list now

Re: Proposal: New location requests management approach
Hi Friends,
Reinhart and I made an attempt Wednesday night (for me) and Thursday morning (for Reinhart) at getting fresh location requests onto the Pending List. Thank you, Reinhart for helping me out.
But have any of you seen what Fred did today? If there are any unanswered location requests, they will be brand new ones posted from this minute forward. Fred went thru and answered every unanswered location request and posted to the Pending List with all fresh locations.
Fred, as I told you in my email, you did a fantastic job and deserve a Medal. But instead, this will have to do for now.
Great Job Fred
Marty

Re: Proposal: New location requests management approach
Hey!
The inflow of new location requests is incredibly large.
According to what people say, this is due to a popularity of our Chrome extension.
There are more than 70,000 users already.
I'm happy
Friends, what you have done is awsome, especially Fred.
You realy ease my job.
It took me 5 minutes to add all the locations.
Thank you!
Pay attention - I have splitted the Pending requests topic into 2 posts.
Pending locations - this is where you add new location ids.
Added locations - I move pending locations there as soon as I have added them to the data-base.
It seems to me a simpe way to sort it out.
Do you agree?

Re: Proposal: New location requests management approach
Hi Pasha,
The Added Locations is a lot more simple than what I had just suggested. I have one question on the Added Locations. Do you have a control on it so that no one can add anything to Added Locations?
I know that we are supposed to post to Pending Locations. But if someone posts to Added Locations by mistake, what will happen? Other than this question, I like it.
Thank you for letting us help you out.

Good to read that you like my idea, Marty
I don't know how to forbid anyone by me to edit "Added Locations" post.
Yes, a drawback.
But I don't see it as a problem.
It is hard to mistake pending vs added for a moderator.
And only moderators can edit Pending requests topic.
