Where I live, I think it's now some kind of record!
In the time period December 17th to January 11th
we had 15 days colder than minus 30 degrees Celsius,
where as 3 days was colder then minus 40.

Wow! Very impressive, -42 on 8th of January while normal temperature is -11.

We should be lucky to avoid such a cold weather, we have usualy -10 and a couple of days it was -20, however the february has not come yet - the coldest month here.

Very beautiful photos Pasha : I like the snowed landscapes. Unfortunately, we never have so much snow in Belgium.
However, last year, in january, the temperatures were very cold (for us! For daddylito it's a joke ) -22°C, and I could take some interesting photos of our frozen lakes.
