Weather Forecast

Something that would make YoWindow really unique would be to add an alternate weather forecast source, such as in my case I use WXSIM for my website which gives a custom forecast generated for the specific location of the PWS. The program takes information from the PWS and the nearest weather reporting station and produces a highly accurate local forecast. The text forecast could be parsed so that the forecast would show up in YoWindow. Just adding an additional option to the PWS options already available in YoWindow for the forecast text file source. I have attached what a typical WXSIM forecast looks like for my station, which can go as far out as a 10 day.

Nice Idea ... but is this an advertising for WXSIM? Because the minimum price is 129 $ !!!

This forecast source that I am using is no different than listing yr.no as the source for YoWindow as that is also advertising but moreover you would have to list that source because of copyright. The true idea of a PWS is to give local conditions and what WXSIM does is compliments this with a locally generated forecast.

There are many of us who use WxSim to produce a forecast for our immediate area and I've thought that some day it could be integrated into YoWindow. I think though that it would have to be a project for the future because the team is extremely busy adding important features and putting out new versions. Maybe Pasha can put it on his list for when things settle down.

Hi Jim and ensco (do you have a name?),
This forecast source that I am using is no different than listing yr.no as the source for YoWindow as that is also advertising but moreover you would have to list that source because of copyright. The true idea of a PWS is to give local conditions and what WXSIM does is compliments this with a locally generated forecast.
What I ment was: do YOU make advertising for WXSIM? The "true idea" of a PWS is realized since a long time on my weatherpage.
I believe that a lot of people using this programm and perhaps I would like it also ... but:
1. the price is between 129 and 249 $! for a single place version. And in my opinion it is a very high price for such a kind of software.
2. it is working only with 4 PWS weather programs (f.e. not with WsWin which I use).
3. when I checked 10 websites offering this feature from 8 I got this information: WXSIM Forecast is not available. ????
So I'm interested to look forward about this idea/suggestion.

Werner, I have used WxSim for a number of months with no major problems. I would probably say that a number of the sites where the forecast was not available was due to the server side script for parsing the plain text forecast that WxSim generates and would not be related to WxSim failing to generate a forecast. I display the forecast text on my website in a scrolling ticker. Check my website
http://preciseweather.ca/ or look at the actual text forecast without the scroller

Thank you friend for bringing this to my attention.
I have put WxSim forecasts support on our list!

Hope it will not take too long.

I don't think so. Currently Pavel is very busy by programming the iOS and Android versions which should be released this autumn.
As he is the only programmer at the moment support for WXSim has to wait a little bit.

Hopefully he will implement WXSIM one day, The reason I don't use YoWindow on my website is because it does not support WXSIM, the forecast differs from the YoWindoow forecasts.
Thanks
