Automatically selecting location

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere - I've searched and found nothing.

I've just had to get rid of GoGadget weather because it kept slowing my website down to a crawl. However, I did like the feature that it would display the weather of the site visitor, rather than the weather in my town.

Is there a way to get YoWindow to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Jenny,

I have no experience on this myself, but I think you'll find an answer here: http://yowindow.com/weatherwidget.php
under All YoWindow widget parameters!: http://yowindow.com/widget_parameters.php

Hope this helps.

Hi Jenny,

Look at my World Weather website and select World of YoWindow F or C . I am using an IP Locator to display a location reasonably close to the User's Location.

I am using 'location_auto_ip=1' instead of 'location_id=gn:123456' where 123456 is your geoid.

YoWindow also has the new Location Chooser.

I hope this information helps you.

Marty

That's cracked it, thanks folks (although auto IP has decided I live anywhere but here, as usual :D).

Hi Jenny,

I'm glad to see we could help you out.
Any change we can have a look at your site?

Thanks in advance.
Fred

www.gameplayjenny.com - the widget is on the right-hand side. I wish I could get a black background with white text, I must admit, but I can only get a black background with no text!

Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know it picked my location perfectly (Leiden, Netherlands).
I wouldn't know how to change the colors, but I'm sure you'll get an answer on that one

Goodluck.

I found another good site for IP to Location http://www.ipfingerprints.com/
. You should try it, maybe it will help you!
