Activation key expires

Hello,
I don't know if it's really a bug of the program or maybe something's wrong with me :)
But: everytime I close Yowindow (for example while turning my computer off) and launch it again, the program looses an activation key. I mean that everytime Yowindow is launched, I have to type the key in to have ultimate edition's features. Otherwise it works only as a free edition.
First time it happend when I had installed 2.0.464 version, and again with 2.0.477 version. In earlier versions everything was ok.

Thanks for suggestions or maybe solution of the problem :)
Ola

Hi Ola,

This sounds really strange to me.
I cannot think of anything else then completely remove (uninstall) YoWindow and re-install again.

Hope this helps.
Goodluck,

Fred

Hmmm... re-installing (done a few times) didn't help.
Interesting is, that the problem concerns only 2.0.464 and higher versions (also rc). When I install for example 2.0.441 version, everything is ok. I wonder if there was anything changed in this matter by 2.0.464 version? If there was, that could cause the problem. That's the only idea I have right now.

Thanks in advance,
Ola

Dear Ola, welcome to the forum!

It looks clearly that YoWindow is not able to save data to hard drive on exit.
Try to exit YoWindow with main-menu/Program/Exit
Will this help?

I cannot remember I put in Yowindow recently anything that could cause this problem.

Are you running YoWindow as an Adminitstrator in Windows.
How many user accounts are on the computer?
Have you tried to run YoWindow under different user accounts?

Hi Ola,
my first idea was you have to install it as admin (with all rights) and give it free for all users.

Hello,
I did everything you had posted and nothing helped :( Maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, I think that's time to start using to typing the key in :)

Thanks for your suggestions,
Ola

Hi Ola,

Can you go back to version 441 once more and tell us if your registration will be remembered again?
Can you also tell us what Windows version you are using?
Just to be sure: If your registration is remembered, does it show Unlimited edition under Help/Over?

Thanks.
Fred

Hello,
Yes, the key is remembered after installing 441 version. I'm using Windows 7 32bit.
And yes, the program shows "Unlimited edition" in Help menu.

I hope this information will be useful,
Ola

Thanks Ola,

Oke guys, this means he has the right rights to install, am I correct?

Ola,

If you upgrade the 441 build directly to the latest 477, what happens then?
Do you get the registration problems back then?
If so, at what point? Is the Unlimited version still there before you close down your PC?
Do you restart your PC every now and then or do you just wake-up from sleep mode?

Thanks,
Fred

Hello,

when I upgrade directly to 447 version the same happens as with 464. Registration problems occure only after closing yowindow entirely, e.g. when computer is shut down, not when it's turned into sleep mode, or when I close it seperately. My idea is that the program in 464 and 477 vesion after launching cannot find activation key (which is somewhere saved anyway), because when I install 441 back without uninstalling later version before it, the key is back remembered without typing it in again. Everything goes then like nothing has happened, with ultimate edition.

Regards,
Ola

P.S. Sorry for a long absence and no replies (I was far from my comp for a few days).
