You may have noticed an unusual number of spam posts to our forum.
Most likely, that was a result of security holes in the version of PHPBB forum (3.0.6) we have been using.
Today I have upgraded the forum to the latest release (3.0..
I hope this will scare away bad robots from our friendly community.

The forum was out of reach due to upgrade process for around 30 minutes today.
Sorry, my fault, I didn't bother to let you know beforehand.

Thanks Werner, this spammer has joined the forum before the upgrade.
I have removed him and all his posts.

Wally, I don't know if I could.
But please explain why do you need this shortcut on every page.

I personally does not use this link at all.
The new posts are highlighted in red and you always know which of them you did not read.

Because it would integrate all new postings into one page...

Much easier than browsing to each subforum...

Unfortunately forum upgrade to the latest version did not frighted the spammers off.
I've noticed two spam accounts registered today.

Does anyone have an idea how can we keep our forum safe from spam?

If you have time please ask people on PhpBB support community why spammers sneak to our forum so easily and how can we block the forum from them.
