Much easier than browsing to each subforum...
Hi Wally, there is a simple solution to show allways the latest posts/replys: use the rss feed of the forum http://yowindow.com/forum/feed.php
Place it on the favorite toolbar and so you can see also your readed/unreaded posts. I use this possibility all the day ;)

Where or how can I find out about the latest forum version? Are these spams dangerous for my computer? :(
Marek
Hi Marek, as Wally wrote 3 replys before: It has nothing to do with your computer or your installed Yowindow. It is the version of this forum. And NO, it is not dangereous for your computer! It is only spam, rubbish, shit ... like the people do this things

Hi Pasha,

there is a special anti-spam-thread with a lot of ideas ... of course I don't know if they could help us.

Hello,
Thank you Werner. Owing to you I have just calmed down. I even was considering not to enter into our forum, however now I know I can. :D By the way, I think these spams as you called "rubbish" emerge in the RSS site, only. Am I right?

I have found some time to fight the spammers on our little board.
I have read a little bit about techniques on phpBB forums.
I was surprised that reCaptcha, we are using for authentication, was cracked some time ago.
That may be the reason so many spammers have visited us since the beginning of the year.

Here are the couner-spam actions I have made today.
1. Custom field test. A person must enter the name of our software on registration (YoWindow, yowindow, YoWindow 2.0 - does not matter).
This task is impossible for spambots and it is very easy for a human.
2. Email confirmation is required on registration (the option was turned off)
3. I have regenerated reCaptcha public/private keys, just in case.

Let's see how many spammers we will see tomorrow.

Special thanks to the moderators for killing the spammers.

Pasha

good morning friends,

yes, it has been very boring the last days with these spams on our forum. :x
One of the reasons I have been in the background.

Thanks to Werner and the other moderators that we have got rid of them - I hope so. :D

Pasha, thanks for your ideas to eliminate this problem for a longer time. I am convinced we are on the right track.
The next days will show the success.

dear friends, have a good day enjoying YoWindow and our forum

regards
