Hi Reinhart,

Happy Birthday! :)

I hope you do not get short changed with your birthday in between Christmas and New Years. :D

Enjoy your day. ;)

Hi Fred and Marty!

As it is 7 a.m. for me it's very nice to read your birthday wishes so early!

Thank you both for your kind words!

Marty: can you please help me with "short changed"? Me, google-translate and online-translator don't know exactly what this means

Edit: now i know :) As a child: yes. As a grown up: no (because i'm lucky enough to help myself in most cases)

Hi Fred,

Sorry about the use of "short changed". This is normally a phrase used with currency transactions. In the USA, if we give someone 5 dollars and should get back 2 dollars and instead we get back 1 dollar, we have been short changed.

This also applies to birthdays that are around Christmas. The person who is having the birthday either gets birthday presents or Christmas presents but not both. They have been short changed. :(

Hi Reinhart,

I hope your special day was a very good day. :)

Marty

this phrase means "iemand een poot uitdraaien"

You know ... one half of me is Nederlands ;)
