Changing landscapes not working (for Ruth)

I write this for Ruth who has a problem with changing the landscapes on her tablet Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1
Whenever she is tipping on the icon on the upper right the available landscapes are shown. But tippig on any of the landscapes has no effect - landscape "village" is used no matter which landscape she has selected.
Changing landscapes only works with the widget but there she has no sounds.
So her situation is: with the program she only can use landscape "village".
Does anyone stumbled across this strange behavior? Does anyone can help us and Ruth?
