Christmas and holiday themes

I have yo window 3s (built 143) running on a win xp home sp3 desktop system.
prior yo windows version had holiday effects such as fireworks and Christmas Lights/decorations
Is there an option to enable Christmas lights on the "village" landscape?

I did find the season map to over ride the current season from "Naked" to "Winter"
Program: Options/Locations/Properties/Override Current Season
I selected "Winter" on the override option.
Kelseyville Ca. winter starts December 21, 12:11 P.M.
yo windows displays December 29, as winter start

Excellent idea to add override option for users to make changes

However, It would be nice to have the village farm house decorated with
Christmas Lights like in previous versions of yo window.
any help would be most appreciated, thank you

PS. great program really enjoy the unlimited paid version.
Thank you

Hi,

Under Options (Ctrl-o) there is Advanced.
Here you can choose 'I want to have fun' (the middle option)
This has to be checked in order to see Christmas Lights (amongst other fun :) )
You don't need the snow landscape, simply scroll to the night to see it.

Keep enjoying YoWindow.

Hi

Last year the Holiday Lights did not come on until December 18th. There was also a Snow Man being built one giant snow ball at a time. :)

Enjoy whatever Pasha has planned and have a good Holiday Season. ;)

Hi Fred and Marty,
yes I was aware of the (option: 'I want to have fun') when I upgraded to 3s version I made sure it was set to enable.
although, I didn't think about specific preset dates in which effects would auto run like fireworks, christmas lights etc..
that sounds very likely. great advice from both replies thank you

btw- the village landscape coincidentally resembles the landscape of my neighbor's farm house. fun program!

Hi

5362725; Kelseyville/California/USA
Current Season Map should look like the following - "02.25:spring/05.01:summer/10.30:autumn/12.15:naked"

If your current season map does not look like this, you are running with a bad build.
Several builds before b147, the season map was malfunctioning.
Please read this entire topic. viewtopic.php?f=29&t=14211

The current release is b149.
Update to b149, press F5, and your season map should look like the above.

Thank you in advance.

Marty

Uninstalled 3s build143 and installed 3s build 150 (downloaded directly from website)
but had troubles with the updated program 3s build 150

1. load time takes very long time, no weather will load, no states or cities will load.
2. all i get is the default New York with no weather to report.
3. unistalled 3s build 150 and reinstalled 3s build 143 only to get same problem.
4. became frustrated and uninstalled the program
5. going to bed 1:33am a little disappointed

btw- I still like the program great community lot of nice folks
thank you for the replies, happy holidays Gy

Hi

There was a problem with one of the servers last night.

Wait a few hours.
You may also want to clear your Internet Cache.
And then try the update again.

Let us know how that works.

ok uninstalled, cleared cache, downloaded build 150 directly from site.

1. installed 3s build 150
2. program loaded good
3. program connected to weather update
4. state and cities all loaded
5. set up options the way I like them

here's a copy/paste of my home season map:
02.25:spring/05.01:summer/10.30:autumn/12.15:naked

no snowman or snow on the ground because it's about 61 degrees here today
so it looks as if program reflects or simulates true to our current weather conditions.

I tested the override feature in "location properties" set it to "winter"
which put snow on ground and a snowman partially built

Yo window 3s build 150 seems to be running correctly, glad to have it back!

Note:
I might have missed this in searching the forums or on website?
but it would be helpful if instructions were easily available "how to update"
a link on the website that directs users to updates that include a brief explanation
with a "step by step" that explains update procedures.
(remove current version prior to updates or update over existing version)

Also: something that explains to registered users the reg is automatically
validated in the updated version.

Thanks for the help, Happy Holidays Gy
