thanks Pavel,
this big bird has been at Hahn airport 2 times last year (within one week).
On the first flight they have realized a new world record with a one piece cargo of 190 tons (a turbo generator).
If you have not seen it you cannot imagine to watch 550 tons going up into the sky .....
With its new body paint it is a beautiful airplane - no doubt.
I like the engineers work of your Russian engineers. They have realized their dreams ..... and the AN-225 is one of these dreams.
By the way the smaller ones, the AN-124, are here on a regular basis - sometimes there are 3 at the same time at the cargo port.
My boys like to watch them as often as it is possible. It is only 9 km away from our home and if the wind is blowing from the east we sometimes watch them passing our window in the kitchen.
regards Uli

Wow
One little correction, AN is a Ukranian aircraft design and manufacturing company.
However it is still possible that Russian engineers were working on these big birds.
It is more precisely to say "Soviet engineers".
You know since 1991 we are not a gigantic country anymore, just a very big country now

hi Pavel,
thanks for your little correction. You are right, it is more precisely to say Soviet engineers.
I guess these big birds are not only Ukranian engineers work - they did it as a big team.
I like some of the features they have realized with these big birds, e.g. some details around the nose door and ramp and the twin front wheel. It is really good engineers work, no doubt.
regards
Uli

Hi Pasha,
thanks for your compliment
It was a "hard piece of work" to remove the sky due to the not so good quality of the original photo.
