Direction of sun

I think this may have been alluded to before.
Currently the sun travels from left to right (northern hemisphere).
Is there any possibility that there might be a variation to allow the sun to travel from 'behind' and drop vertically in front when setting - in other words if the photo orientation is looking west - and of course vice versa - rising in front and travelling straight up and setting behind you - if the photo looks east?
