This version fixed the portrait mode but the sound is still very low. The sounds are great on the iPhone 5.

Have you tried to change the volume with iPad volume buttons?
On iOS the sound volume is controlled globally for all applications.

Inside YoWindow the sound volume is set to exactly the same value on iPhone and on iPad.
Is iPhone is louder than the New iPad?
Can you try to launch the same application (not YoWindow) on both devices and compare the volume?

Comparing iPad 2 to new iPad with exact same volume settings, the iPad 2 is SIGNIFICANTLY louder than the new iPad.

Confirm portrait mode of new iPad is now fills the screen.
Question:
In portrait mode, you can drag the time across using the time bar at the bottom . In landscape mode, the time bar is not present. No way to check on future hour forecasts unless you just click on the day icons.
