yowindow forgets landscape

At times my pc crashes or i may have to reboot.
Yowidow no longer recognizes the landscape i created.
The directory and files are there but yowindow ignores them.
I start the landscape process from scratch and yowindow says the directory already exists
and refuses to let me reinstall it.
I am forced to save the landscape, delete the directory structure, go through the process
and then copy the saved landscape back.

This is a real pita.

What does that mean: "ignores them"? How does ignoring express itself? Does some error-messages appear? If yes, which one - screenshots please. If no, which behavior does YoWindow show when "ignoring" happens?

Please, to help you out of this help us by providing as much as you can. Everything can be helpful - even something you might think of being unimportant.

The directory and files of the landscape I created exist.

Yowindow does not acknowedge their existance.

They do not show up in the 'Landscape' menu.

I am forced to go through the create a landscape process.

When I attempt to recreate the already existing dir/files, yowindow
complains that they already exist and does not allow me to proceed.

They still however do not appear in the landscape menu.

I must delete the dir/files and then start over from ground zero to
create my landscape which was already there......

PITA

Hi,

1. I moved your post to "questions" because it is not a bug of Yowindow.
2. did you all your installations/changes in the administrator mod?
3. can you post your options.xml please

Werner

Not a Bug ????

Yowindow loses track of installed landscapes .... and that is not a bug ?

Really ?

As for an options file - a clue please - where is it ? It is not in the install directory.

1st. Find the cause of your pc crashing...

2nd. Back-up your options.xml file regularly...(everytime you add a location or landscape)

The file is located in the \Users\your name\Application Data\YoWindow directory in Windows 7

When/if the problem reoccurs close YoWindow en replace the option.xml with the one you backed-up...

With all due respect....

That is a rediculous solution to a problem that should not be happening.

All the other settings are retained and used when yowindow restarts.

Are you saying that ignoring my created landscapes is a feature ???????

No Sir...I'm not implying that it is a feature...

As far as I know...YoWindow updates the option.xml upon closing the program or windows in a regular fashion...

Your pc crashing and therefor preventing this from happening is the root cause of this behavior...

It will not happen when Windows or YoWindow is closed normally...will it ?

With all respect to you,

but up to now you give us no answer to our questions and proposals. In the meantime 3 mods are involved to your personal problem and all would like to help you ... but no support from your side!
Again it is NO bug of Yowindow, otherwise thausends of users had the same problem and beliefe me we would have a lot of posts here.
Something is wrong with the installation on your PC and we would like to help you, but we need the demanded answers.
