Hi friends,

it was not my intension "to trigger an avalanche" :)
I just wanted to help an unexperienced user! And he is not the only one ... me too in this case!
You are the experts and what is easy and clear for you, may be difficult for other people.
So f.e. I didn't know that is a difference in the data file between yr.no and geoname.org
Another may be small thing: when I open yr.no with IE 9 it is not possible to choose the language ... so all is in Norwegian language and so I had not the idea to click on "vis mer" :(
Werner

P.S.: Pasha, if you like I will write an illustrate "cookbook" in German.

Hi Werner,

No need to apologize.
I appreciate your post very much, since I think this is very important for all users!
So, thank you for bringing it under our attention :good:

Another thing is that this is becoming of topic.

Werner,
I'm using IE9 as well.
Don't you have the option to choose English at the right top on yr.no?

Hmmm, typical.

Maybe clearing your browser cache would help?

Guys, my proposal is to keep going with Geonames way.
In case we will see too many location-ids that do not belong to yr.no, we will switch back to yr.no location-id search instruction.
I just don't think this issue is of a high importance.
What really is important is YoWindow 3 and I'm going to show you a new piece of it tomorrow (hopefully :) )

Reinhart, Werner, Fred thanks for taking care.

PS
Werner, thanks for offering your help, I think it will be good to have a "add location" instruction in German.

... just an update: the Geonames-ID is available on yr.no again without any clicking on a plus-sign or something similar

I think we should get our old instruction back, since it is very difficult to find geoname-id on geonames.org
Thank you, Reinhart.
I will update the instruction when I have some time.
