Ok, I just added the Google Clock widget and that's in 12hr format too, with no apparent way to change it. The plot thickens...

You need to change Google Chrome language settings.

Thanks for the suggestion, par, but I'm already on "English (United Kingdom)". Just a thought; I also have "Do Not Track Me" and "AdBlock Plus" running. I don't suppose these would have any effect?

Hi Mike,
Would you please give this a second chance?
I've tried Google Chrome Language settings under options/advanced (at the bottom)/Language on English (United States) and English (United Kingdom) respectively:
US:

UK:

- Google English(UK).jpg (14.32 KiB) Viewed 8669 times
Goodluck.

Looks hopeful, Fred, but I'm not sure how I can modify my settings to follow your lead. This is the only language control I'm aware of in Chrome and as you can see, it's already set for UK:

Hi Mike,
Weather or not it's useful to reconfirm your English(UK) settings I wouldn't know, I would suggest to just give it a try.
You may or may not need to choose another setting (language) first.
- Choose a language. Press Display Google Chrome in this language (1).
- You may want to choose from the language list under add (3)
- Don't forget to press OK (2) and restart Chrome.

Hope this helps.

I tried what you suggested, Fred. I chose German and clicked "ok", shut down Chrome and re-opened - still in English. Tried it again to be sure - still in English. Switched back to English...
I'm beginning to think I'll just have to live with it for the sake of my sanity, but I appreciate the help everyone here has offered

Hmmm, that's disappointing.
By all means, do keep sane, but maybe a re-install of Chrome is worth to try?

The thought crossed my mind, Fred - but I've had enough for one day...

Update:
I don't know whether my computer has just decided to "get with the programme" or whether someone, somewhere has done a little tweaking - as it's now reading in 24hr format
If thanks are due anywhere... thanks! And Happy New Year!
