Mallorca... Are you addressing me ?

I am surprised by your tone......

Clearly this is a problem - An application that does not save settings WHEN THEY ARE MADE but instead waits to save them upon close of said application is inherrently unreliable.

The described strategy of not updating settings in real time is the flaw and is the root cause of this bug.

All other settings seem to be retained yet the location of user made landscape files is not.
In spite of them clearly being in the proper directory location.

I trust this anomolous behaviour can/will be fixed to make yowindow more reliable.

Regards -

???

Any thoughts on when yhis may be fixed ?

Case in point - I set the landscape to 'sky'... had to reboot my PC due to a freeze and...

that landscape WAS remembered by yowindow....

so thee seems to be a dicrepency in the description given as to how the settings are kept.

????

If you want to get rid off this problem...

Fix your pc...or have it fixed !!!

Meanwhile...back-up your options.xml file...

A kid can search for it...piece of cake...

Wally - your attitude and reply are rude and completely non-useful.

Why is that ? Are you a yowindow developer who refuses to accept comment for improvements ?

Blind to an obvious flaw in the application.....?

Applications should, by design, be fault tolerent of the OS and recover gracefully without the user having to back-up and reinstall setting/option files.

That is the industry standard.......

Please... get real here.

mancatnj: is it totally unthinkable for you that your problem has to do with the crashes which seem to happen often on your PC?
I too would like to see your options.xml before and after a crash when your personal landscapes are not acknoledged by YoWindow (but please don't post them without deleting possible twitter and facebook lines!).

And another favour i would like to ask you to do for us: please take your time and tell us (especially me) what the "landscape process" is you've mentioned. Just think of a child and tell me from the moment you start YoWindow until YoWindow refuses to accept existing landscapes in a way like "then i click on that, entered this and click on the "OK" button. Then this dialog appears, ..." and so on and so on. I can think of more than one "landscape process" so i would like to know which one you are talking about.

(btw: YoWindow currently only has 1 single programmer who works 24/7 on the mobile versions of YoWindow. Werner, some other guys and me are "just" moderators who like the program and try to help other users with problems with YoWindow. In our spare time.)

Industry standard..?

While on OS may recover from a severe crash...Even windows standard programs lose

their settings after a crash...

Try Internet Explorer not retaining its log-in settings for different websites...

Look...you seem to be the only one suffering from this...

You keep this whining up...and you'll be barking up the wrong tree pretty soon...

As far as I'm concerned...you're on your own...

Sayonara...

Hey Wally, I'm on a Vista PC... I have had the same issues although my PC didn't crash but it can run slow at times.
I started to do screenshots last night thinking that perhaps I can upload them.
Would this be helpful?
I'm not really PC savvy... I know my way around Photoshop but I really have no idea what an xml is and how to locate it. haha

I'll try and see if it happens and again and let you know.

Seems our friend and yourself are getting pretty frustrated. Deep breath guys. We can figure this out. :D
