A New Flash alternative - Ruffle

Post by DWC121 »

I've been using a new Flash alternative called Ruffle. It is actually an emulator. I'm not a programmer (although I am a retired database administrator), but as I understand it, ruffle can be used by programs that require Flash. I'm not sure if Ruffle has to be incorporated INTO the software or not. I hope someone at Yowindow looks into Ruffle.

I dearly want my Yowindow to work again.

Thanks - David

Hi David,

What was the Android version has been changed line by line into a multi platform version.

Right now the team is testing this multi platform version in Android and iOS.
The first step is to get both mobiles working without crashing.
That is why you see all the posting under Android.

Once Android and iOS work without crashing, the next step is Windows and Mac.

The multi platform version is not dependent on Flash.
The beauty of the multi platform version is there will be one common code for all devices.
The multi platform version is the common code.

So when a landscape is added, all devices will have that new landscape.

But please be patient. The two mobiles have to work without crashing before the start of testing Windows and Mac.

Thanks for being patient.

Hi Scott,

What you could do right now is what Alex has done.

He has a Nox emulator on his Windows.
He has download the Android free version from Google Play to his emulator.
And he is testing the new multi platform version of YoWindow that way.

The Android versions on Google Play are Android in name only.
They are the new multi platform version of YoWindow.

The team could probably try testing all devices at one time.
But then all devices would start crashing.
And the team would have to figure out which device and lines of code are the problem.

So testing the mobiles first has isolated where crashes are coming from.

If you load down Nox emulator and Android free version of YoWindow you could help with the testing. Any bugs that you see like people not walking or something like that, please post your findings under Android topic. That is where the team is finding out about crashes and letting you know that there is a new build of the multi platform version.

Alex is enjoying Nox and maybe you will too.

Thanks.

Yowindow is working pretty good with NOX. I have one of my own landscapes installed. How can I get my water to move?

Hi Scott,

Right now live water is for the internal landscapes.
But Pasha is working on it for user landscapes.

Do you like the animated landscapes?
Have you seen ocean and train station?
If you still have time, select them for a few of your locations.
As you have limited number of days to do so on the free version.

Enjoy the animated landscapes.

Yes I love how it works on Nox, my only issue is with Nox itself, it is a little laggy :P But Yowindow works just like it did before which is amazing. When the new desktop version comes out will it be free for unlimited locations like the one prior to Flash not working was?
