Assistance please

Post by LoneWolf_53 »

I have a picture of my locality and would love to see the sky removed but was also wondering if it could be done so that it reflects in the water too?

I played with that BETA tool but wasn't sure what I was doing though I noticed one of the tools would highlight some of the water too which go me to thinking the sky does reflect in lakes much of the time.

I also don't know if this picture is of an adequate size.

I've experimented with using a number of various weather gadgets but this one impresses me the most by far.

Excellent work.

Currently there's no way for us to define areas in a picture where YoWindow would reflect the sky in it.

you tried to mark the sky in the picture so it can be cutted out to serve as the sky in YoWindow

the tool probably marks not only the sky but also areas in the picture with the same tone of blue

Of course it is usable; but my personal opinion: the higher the resolution the better (it would look in full-screen or in the screensaver-mode) :D

Here's your picture with the sky removed - now can use it and create a YoWindow landscape! (below you find a screenshot with your picture as a YoWindow-landscape):

If I were to take a picture what would be the perfect size to use with yowindow?

My monitors are all 1920x1080 if that makes any difference.

Keep the width of your picture max 2600.

For the high you should be max 1500. YoWindow fills the high

The landscape is use on all monitors width different dimensions.

Download my landscape Leerdam : http://yowindow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2561
Then you see what i meant

I don't really know much about photography but my camera is a Sony W300 which apparently will do 13.6 MegaPixels so I assume that should create a high enough quality picture to make a good landscape yes?

There is a lot of nice scenery around my area so I will just have to wait for a nice sunny day, if we ever get one again. :(

By the way I did download that landscape you made and it is beautiful but it does not fill my whole screen the way that the default village in yowindow does.

There are black bars on each side of my screen.

Hi lonely wolf

It's not the megapixels that determine the quality. But it helps. The photographer determines the quality ;)
The maximum width of yowindow flash is 2600.
With your monitor, a ratio of 16:9 is this 2600 to 1550.
If you edit the original picture you have to change the width back to 2600.
If there is enough air, reduce the high to 1300.
The quality remains the same.
The landscape can therefore used by different monitor sizes
