Question about adding custom landscapes

Post by hypernova »

When I add a custom landscape from the collection, do I lose animation in the landscape (for example custom landscapes won't show tree branches bending in the breeze or animals wandering around) but it will still give me an animated sky (moving clouds, birds in the skies, airplanes, balloons, leaves flying around, etc.)?

Every object in a custom landscape is inanimate...

Nothing portrayed in that landscape will move...

Anything that happens in the sky will be displayed and move accordingly...

So to have an animated landscape I must use one of the preloaded ones that come with the program?

The program is amazing! The only other thing I can think of adding is a real display of stars and positions of the moon and sun and planets (to see eclipses) but I know that would be difficult without a 3D 360 degree panoramic projection. So I run Yowindow alongside Stellarium!

Stick around...

Our team is constantly working on improving both reliability and UI...(user interface)

Enjoy the upcoming solar eclipse...

Thanks, I hope you get to see it too! Think we might be able to simulate an eclipse in Yowindow one day? The other feature I would like is to see all the data from my saved locations in spreadsheet form so I could go back and look at their history from years ago.

Living in Europe (Belgium)...I'm afraid this eclipse is not gonna amount to much...

Hopefully we'll have more luck in 2026... :)
