YoWindow Server 2.0

Post by par »

There are a lot of stuff done on our server (processing the weather, location search, etc).
Unfortunately the server code has a number of problems.
The most notable - the huge amount of weather requests from YoWindow applications.

Because of this, about a year ago we started working on YoWindow Server 2.0.
The man behind this task is our friend - Askar.
As of today the work is done and we are ready to switch YoWindow applications to the new server code.

However, we are not 100% sure the new code will work out of the box.
So, we are going to do this step by step.

Yesterday I have switched YoWindow for Windows and Mac to YoWindow Server 2.0.
So far so good, we haven't received any complaints regarding weather reporting.
If you have experienced weather reporting issues on Windows or Mac, please report.

We will keep testing the desktop edition for a week, then we will switch mobile editions.
Get YoWindow weather app for your phone or tablet.

Hi Pasha,

This may have something to do with the new server.

5952191;Fergus/Ontario/Canada is missing from the location search.
See viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21816#p61842

It is on the database.
I can look up 5952191.
I cannot search for Fergus, Canada.

Also, the Location Chooser Widget is not loading the Location Search.

No real issues here on my iMac...

Though refreshing weather data is sometimes somewhat delayed...

This Spanish speaking user also has a similar complaint...

Answered that maybe the new server might have some issues...

YoWindow started acting up today for me, Windows 10. It would update the weather, but everything was frozen in motion. I closed and reopened and now, I get nothing. Black Screen, when open, and no weather data. The whole YoWindow Program crashes on me. Mobile is working still, for me.

Just thought that I would give a heads up to anyone that needs to know this!

Hi Scott,

Please see viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23504

Microsoft just did an update today on my Win8.1 and Win10.
The update forced the latest Adobe Flash Player onto my computers.
Thusly, I have black screens now.

Pasha has instructions on how to install the new beta version of flash player in the above.

countryroads,

I tried the links and they were dead links. I tried to uninstall the flash player but after running the uninstaller and restarting, the IE Edge was still using the latest, installed Flash Player Version. I never installed any other versions of the Flash Player on my computer. My trials came up with errors every time. :sorry:

Just install the lastest Windows update...

It's called :

"Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3132372)"

Only available for Windows 10 (or 8.1) through the update feature of Windows...

All other Window systems see link below...

Do you mean remove or actually install the security update? It won't let me remove the update. I remove it, requires me to restart...It installs again, right after boot. With the update installed, YoWindow doesn't function at all. Without the update, YoWindow functions like normal. Either there is something wrong with the update or something that was changed that has gone wrong!?

So you say that this update should be removed and not installed..?

In that case Par must have mistakenly misrepresented this in the sticky post about the Flash update...

What if you remove the update and change your Windows Update settings to 'manually' BEFORE you reboot..?
