Widget: New location search

Post by par »

New location search is available on YoWindow widget setup page.
http://yowindow.com/weatherwidget

As well as on weather page
http://yowindow.com/weather

Why new location search?
- Look up any location on Earth.
- Search in your language.
- Simple!

Please report any problem you to find with the location search.

I think we are very close to the moment to say farewell to the old search component in YoWindow editions.
Dear community, Marty, Fred, thank you for taking care about locations through all this time.

Hi Pasha,

All I have checked out is the Widget Creation page right now.

Right now, I have tested this on my Win7.
I need to test on my WinXP.
Everything should be okay on my Win8.1.

On Win7,
IE8 does not work at all.
Firefox has an empty dropdown list.
Chrome works excellent.
Opera works excellent.

For now, if I am using the Win7, I will have to get the code from Chrome.

:) :( :)
Marty

P.S. IE on Win8.1 works excellent.

Marty, thank you so much!
It turned out there must be special care taken after IE8.
I have added the important code.
The new location search works as expected in IE8 compatibility mode on my IE10.
Please check if it works for you as well.

Please check once again in your Firefox and let me know the Firefox version.

Hi Pasha,

I just tried Live Weather page on my Win7.

On Chrome, this page works excellent.
It finds my location or a location close to me and then YoWindow displays.
I can then add a location and dropdown list displays.

On IE8, this page is not working.
It does not find my location and the blue YoWindow start is all that displays.
Enter a location and nothing happens.

But the Widget Creation page works excellent.

:(

Hi, Marty!
Yesterday I have updated the widget.
Try to clean up the cache of ie8.
Will it help?

The weather page works just fine in ie8 compatibility mode on ie10.

Marty, I think I have fixed the problem case in Firefox 12.
Please, can you check it?

Thank you for reporting this and many other errors.
