Hi Pasha,

For some countries as Russia, Italy, Spain the current weather is provided by http://openweathermap.org
Why did you change the data source from METAR to OWM for some countries? Now, in an Italian location, I have a fair weather with light rain, which was appeared a few weeks ago for Russian and Japanese locations. I think the METAR would be better or simply let the choice between the data sources, at least in the desktop version where there is an option for it. Of course, if it is possible. :)

There is a reason for it.
METAR stations network is not dense enough to cover the whole world.
OWM tries to predict the current weather in areas without METAR stations.

Adrian, how far is your place from the closest METAR station?

My city has a METAR station, so it is only a few kilometres. :)

I know that the density of METAR reports is not sufficient, but maybe there would be two solutions.
1. Let the choice between METAR and OWM, like in the current desktop version, default could be OWM instead of METAR. Thus, everybody can decide which one is better for him/her.
2. This is more difficult (?) : For those locations which don't have METAR station within e.g. 20 km, the data provider could be OWM, the others could use METAR reports. There is the distance from the closest METAR station on location details panel, so it may be usable.

What do you think?
I can imagine that managing Android version is very hard, so I am just wondering. :)

I'm very sorry, but when I enter any city on yr.no website and in the same city YoWindow, so data must be the same. And if not the same, then there is something wrong and the data in the app are not from yr.no

Pavle sure you try it and see that there are large differences...

As I was told by OWM guys, they use METAR within a certain range from the station, for farther locations they use their data model.
So this logic is already inside OWM provider.

Sure, over time we will provide more features on Android.
Right now I'm trying to add the ones that we have planned to do first.
It's very hard to set priorities.

Please let me know your location so I can test why OWM provides wrong data for your place.
